Pumpkin Pie in a Bag

Ever heard of making pumpkin pie in a bag ?  This recipe is a  no bake solution to making pumpkin pie directly in your classroom.    

Pumpkins are popular around Halloween and Thanksgiving and most parts of the pumpkin are edible. The flesh, seeds, leaves and even the flowers. The most popular way to prepare pumpkin is by cooking and pureed and mixed with spices as pies.

SUPPLIES NEEDED TO MAKE PUMPKIN PIE IN A BAG

  • 1 gallon size ziploc bag
  • 2-2/3 cup cold milk
  • 2 packages of 4 serving size vanilla instant pudding
  • 1 can (15 oz) solid packed pureed pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Graham cracker crumbs
  • Gallon size zip top bag
  • 30 small cups or cupcake liners
  • 1 container of whipping topping
  • 30 spoons

STEPS TO MAKING PUMPKIN PIE IN A BAG

1.) IN ZIPLOC BAG COMBINE PUDDING MIX & MILK

Pour the milk and the vanilla pudding mixes into a heavy duty gallon size Ziploc bag. Seal.

Add milk and pudding mix.


2.) KNEAD PUDDING MIX & MILK

Knead the pudding mix and milk gently in the bag for about a minute or until well mixed.

3.) ADD PUMPKIN GINGER & CINNAMON

Add the pumpkin, ginger and cinnamon to the pudding and milk mixture. Reseal bag and knead and gently squeeze the bag for 2 minutes or until well blended.

4.) SET OUT 30 SMALL CUPS OR CUPCAKE LINERS

Set out 30 small cups or cupcake liners in cake pans and sprinkle a little graham cracker crumbs into each. The graham cracker crumbs become the crust of the individual no bake pumpkin pies.

5.) Cut Corner of Ziploc Bag

To make it super easy to fill each of the cups or liners with the pumpkin pie filling, snip a corner of the plastic bag. You can then pipe the filling into the individual cups.

6.) ADD WHIPPING TOPPING

Add a spoonful of whipped topping to each of the mini pumpkin pies and a spoon. Enjoy!

  • The individual pumpkin pies taste almost identical to pumpkin pie.
  • You can store the individual pies in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve them.
  • ENJOY!!
