How to Make Scratch and Sniff Watercolors

Make these wonderfully scented watercolors for the children to paint with.  Once the paint has dried, the children can scratch and sniff their pictures for the day.  The scent doesn’t last all that long, only for the day but they love the scent while painting and like to scratch and sniff right after the picture is dry.

Be sure to have the children wear old clothing, paint smocks or aprons when painting.  Also cover all surfaces before painting.  The paint will stain.  For hard surfaces a little water / bleach solution will remove the coloring.
