Edible Pilgrim Hats

While paging through an issue of Family Fun Magazine in the doctor’s office last year, I came upon this cute idea that I just had to try!

Edible Pilgrim Hats!

Ingredients:
24 chocolate-striped shortbread cookies
12 ounce package of chocolate chips
24 large marshmallows
One tube with a very fine decorating tip of yellow decorating frosting

Instructions:

1.) Set the cookies down on wax paper, spacing them apart.

2.) Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Stir every 20 seconds.

3.) Stick a toothpick into each marshmallow.  Dip the marshmallows one at a time into the melted chocolate chips, coating completely.  Immediately, top the marshmallow onto the cookie.

4.) Use a second toothpick to hold down the marshmallow and carefully pull out the first toothpick.

5.) Place the entire tray into the refrigerator to allow the chocolate to set.

6.) To finish the design, pipe a buckle shape to the front of each hat using the yellow frosting.

If you have not had the pleasure of reading Family Fun magazine, it is packed full of wonderful family activities, tips and of course FUN!  When my daughter was younger, I subscribed to the magazine as a gift for her.  I have also had many of my crafting ideas and Halloween costume ideas published through the magazine too.
