Once you have printed and laminated the patterns, decided if you would like to make a flannel board or magnetic board from the patterns.
If you would like to make a flannel board you can back the pieces with flannel. If you chose to make a magnetic board, just back the pieces with magnets.
Divide the children up into small groups. Give each child in the group a copy of the horse pattern, crayons and one die for the group. Have the children take turns rolling a die. The number the child rolls in the amount of spaces on their horse they color. First person to color in their numbered pieces wins.
