Bubble Solution Recipe
Bubbles can keep children entertained for hours. Bubble solution isn’t all that terribly expensive if you are purchasing it for one or two children. When you start having to purchase it for a large group and factor in the spills, you start looking for alternatives.
You can make your own solution at home at a fraction of the cost of store-bought bubble solutions. You might have the ingredients in your home right now.
Bubble Solution #1 –
2/3 Cup of Joy dishwashing soap
3 Tablespoons glycerin (found in the pharmacy department)
1 Gallon water
Rinse out an old gallon milk jug. Measure out the ingredients above into the empty milk jug. Replace the milk jug cap and shake the mixture to completely mix all the ingredients together. When ready to use, pour the bubble solution into shallow containers to use.
Let the solution sit for a day or more before use. Give the solution a gentle shake before each use.
Bubble Solution #2 –
3/4 part corn syrup
6 parts water
2 parts Joy dishwashing liquid
Mix and store in a covered container until ready to use. Give the solution a quick swirl before use.
11 Cups of water
1 Cup corn syrup
4 Cups Ajax anti-bacterial dish soap
Rinse out an old gallon milk jug and measure out the ingredients above into the empty milk jug. Replace the milk jug cap and shake the mixture to completely mix all the ingredients together. Pour out the bubble solution into shallow containers. I have found that the solution works best if you let it sit at least a day before use. Give the solution a gentle shake before use.
