1-10 Numbered Turkeys Math Game

This printable 1-10 numbered turkeys math game goes along with my Thanksgiving unit. 

Children will learn to identify the number by sight and count out the correct number of manipulatives to correspond to the written number. by each turkey shape.   

The PDF pattern can be downloaded and saved to a desktop or laptop computer. Then follow the directions below to create the number matching game.

SUPPLIES NEEDED TO MAKE 1-10 NUMBERED TURKEYS MATH GAME

  • Turkey PDF pattern below
  • Printer with colored ink
  • 5 Sheets of printer paper
  • Laminating sheets
  • Heat laminating machine
  • Scissors
  • 55 pieces of candy or holiday erasers
  • Gallon size zip top bag

STEPS TO MAKE 1-10 NUMBERED TURKEYS MATH GAME

1.) DOWNLOAD & PRINT PDF PATTERN

The pattern is listed below is in a PDF file and will print 2 to an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of printer paper.

The PDF file must be downloaded and saved to a computer, then printed.

2.) Heat Laminate All 5 Sheets



Use a heat laminating machine to laminate all five of the sheets. Heat laminating pouches & sheets will allow you to keep the patterns from year to year. If you will just be using the patterns for one year, feel free to slip each individual sheet into a page protector.


3.) CUT THE CARDS APART

I like to cut the cards apart so that a couple children can work on them at the same time during center time. If you have one child working on the numbered cards, you can leave them as full sheets as pictured below.


HOW TO USE 1-10 NUMBERED TURKEYS MATH GAME

For each number listed next to the turkey count out that many pieces of candy. Place the candy in the individual squares.

  • Use candy corn, pumpkins or holiday erasers for the counters.
  • The candy pieces are always cheap after Halloween. You can normally pick up bags for a quarter a piece a few days after the holiday.
